Details are emerging how excited Minister of Foreign Affairs Eisenhower Mkaka helped self- styled Prophet Sheppard Bushiri and his wife jump bail in South Africa and facilitated his safe entry in Malawi on Wednesday night.
We can reveal that Mkaka met Bushiri’s aide Kelvin Silungwe in South Africa on Tuesday where they agreed on a plan to smuggle Bushiri out of the country and how he was going to enter Malawi without problems.
The pictures show Mkaka and Silungwe meeting at a hotel in South Africa where he was lodging preparing for President Lazarus Chakwera’s state visit to South African on Thursday last week.
President Chakwera’s top aide and son-in-law Sean Kampondeni also attended the meeting with Silungwe and they all got their ‘cut’ right there in South Africa. The final payment was made on Saturday evening at Bushiri’s opulent Area 43 home in Lilongwe.
“Bushiri had already arranged his escape with his people including police officers in South Africa but the problem was how he was going to enter Malawi and that is why Mkaka was reached to help and he did help and got his cut from the deal right there in South Africa,” said our impeccable source close to the matter.
Bushiri is said to have used Mchinji Border deep in the night on Wednesday last week, a day before Chakwera left for South Africa.
Bushiri only came out to announce that he was in Malawi on Saturday morning to coincide with the arrival of Chakwera in the early hours of Saturday morning after his plane was detained in South African for several hours on Friday night.
“Mkaka, Kampondeni are the ones who helped Bushiri jump bail in South Africa and facilitated his entry in Malawi, they know this is the truth and they know they got paid for it. In fact, those in the know should ask Mkaka to account for his time and movements on Saturday night, he was at Bushiri’s house in Lilongwe getting his final payment,” said the source.
